What's new in e-learning

A new updated and improved e-learning offer is now available through SHARE.

The six e-learning modules for Committee/Board members have all been updated and they’re now ready for use. These six modules are an excellent resource and are absolutely free to all our member organisations.

So what is on offer? The modules are:

  • Introduction to Housing Associations
  • Committee Roles and Responsibilities
  • Introduction to Housing Management
  • Introduction to Housing Maintenance
  • Introduction to Finance
  • Introduction to Development

The e-learning will help new Committee/Board members get a better understanding of the context, their roles and responsibilities and help develop their knowledge, but they are just as valid for experienced members to consolidate what they know.

E-learning for staff

E-learning for staff is a great way to cover some of the annual topics without actually leaving the office and it’s all recorded, so proof that staff have went through the learning.  SHARE have developed the four staff modules below which are free. However there are another 35 modules which although not strictly for housing are very generic and these can also be used free by members.

  • Change Management
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making
  • Stress Management
  • Time Management

We will be providing more titles as and when they are developed.

Why would you want to use e-learning?

E-learning is part of your member benefits so doesn’t cost anything extra.

You can undertake study at any time and anywhere you have an internet connection.

Our new e-learning modules allow you to stop and leave the module and when you return it will take you right back to where you left off so you don’t lose anything.

Once you have completed a module you can take an assessment and when you successfully pass you can print your own certificate to prove you have completed that module. Great way of tracking your learning.

The system keeps a record of all of your e-learning for future use.

If you are not a member of SHARE but are interested in e-learning please get in touch with Olwyn Gaffney, Training & Development Manager at SHARE. Telephone 0141 550 7595 or email

If you are interested in getting your Committee/Board or staff online, just get in touch with Ros or Stewart at and they will get you set up.
