SHARE news - autumn 2018
SHARE news is a quarterly newsletter which brings you up to date with what has been happening at SHARE.
There’s lots in it on what we’ve been up to over the last couple of months – and you’ll be able to read about what’s coming up.
We’re launching our outline programme for our annual conference for 2019 – Communities not commodities. The event takes place from 1st to 3rd March (a week earlier than last year) and as it is always a really busy event so make sure you take advantage of the early bird offer.
We have another two great events coming up. Connect, serve, deliver – delivering for your tenants, is aimed at frontline staff and takes place at the Teacher Building in Glasgow on Wednesday 14th November. It is designed with them in mind and there are some great speakers and workshop sessions lined up. Our keynote speaker is Brian Costello, Founder and Director, Headstrong, who will keep delegates motivated throughout the day.
Our Corporate Governance event is aimed at staff who support your Committee/Board, a crucial role within housing associations and co-operatives, and takes place at the Radisson Blu hotel in Glasgow on Thursday 29th November. We welcome George Walker, Chair of the Scottish Housing Regulator as our opening plenary to discuss the role of the SHR, to talk about the importance of governance and provide an update on the regulatory framework. Our final plenary, SHR engagement - a lived journey will be delivered by Martin Wilkie-McFarlane, Director, and Maureen Morris, Chair, of Wellhouse Housing Association. There’s also a whole host of workshops for delegates to choose from.
